Miss Reader

Every book is a new journey to embark on. I mainly read romances, but I dabble in other genres too.

Warped - Maurissa Guibord

I'm leaving it here at 196 pages. The sisters of Fate and a guy being trapped in a tapestry as a unicorn drew me into the book and got me close to 200 pages, but what pushed me away is how it's like all those other lousy YA fantasy/paranormal romance books that I've been coming across. There's nothing new going on here. The plot, characters, and everything is pretty much standard so I don't see why I should continue on. I have seen in some reviews that it gets a bit better at the end, but I don't want to trudge through another 100 pages to get a glimpse of something good.

The writing itself isn't too bad, but it could use some work. What really stuck out to me was the large amount of sentences starting with 'and' or 'but' when it wasn't necessary. There were so many of them that I couldn't help but notice them as I read the book.
