Every book is a new journey to embark on. I mainly read romances, but I dabble in other genres too.

I didn't like this one as much as Comfort Food. The island Grace goes to wasn't fully explained. I wish the author would have spent more time giving it more details, because lifestyle on the island was vague, and questions kept popping into my head about how things were run there.
I thought the story went a little fast. Not enough time was spent on seeing Grace and Asher bonding with each other, especially since Grace suffered abuse from her last master.
Sometimes the writing dwells too much on a character's feelings. I wanted more things to actually happen.
I didn't understand Asher that well, particularly his thoughts on Darcy and his atonement.
Even though I had problems with it, I enjoyed it overall. It was a good read to pass the time. I was in a mood for something dark, and this fulfilled that need quite nicely.
